The office works on a rolling admissions basis. This means that we accept applications all year, as we work through the admissions process (tour, assessments, decision, registration). However, we recommend early registration to avoid disappointment – some classes do fill up early.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering four highly respected programs of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. IB programs challenge students aged 3-19 to excel in their studies and encourage both personal and academic achievement. For additional information, please visit the official IB website.
St. Jude’s Academy is an Authorized World Continuum School. That means that our PYP, MYP and DP programs are all validated and approved by IB. We are one of the only schools in the area to have such a distinction.

St. Jude’s Academy is non-semestered, which means that Upper School students take the same eight courses from September to June. This allows students to continuously learn about the subject and stay engaged with it. This generally gives students better academic results, as students balance all eight courses continuously.
Instruction is primarily done in English. French is our main second language focus, as it is a required component of the IB program. However, Mandarin is an elective (optional course) offered to Upper School students.
No, Canadian high schools do not have O-Levels or A-Levels, which are common in British countries. Canadian schools offer secondary credit courses.

Here at SJA, we believe that athletics play a crucial role in a student’s holistic well-being. We offer opportunities for students in lower, middle, and upper grades to participate in sports, both within the school and at tournaments and competitions, to learn key skills such as collaboration, cooperation, teamwork, and fair play.
Starting from JK, we have daily gym lessons up to grade 2. This is where students will develop the ability to work together and learn key fundamental skills that will prepare them to enter school sports and competitive teams from grade 1 and upwards. Through inter-school sports and internal games, the students can try out to play on competitive teams and represent the school in competitions and tournaments against other schools.
Here at St. Jude’s Academy, we have an athletics program that strives to give each student an athletic experience. In the past few years, we have had both competitive and developmental teams in basketball, soccer and track and field. We have also extended the program to include volleyball, dodgeball, flag football and cross-country teams. We are in two organizations, the SSAF which has sports for all ages from U10 through to U20 and we will have full access to a range of sports through the PSAA which could include floor hockey, swimming, ultimate frisbee and badminton catering for students in grade 2-8.
With our new facility opening after the summer of 2024, we will have a brand new 75,000ft space consisting of three basketball courts that will also accommodate volleyball, badminton, pickleball, indoor soccer (turf field for outdoor soccer) and many other sports as well as a fully functioning gym for conditioning and exercise available to our students in the upper school.
Yes, we have 2 amazing guidance staff that manage student assessments, class placements, behavioural issues, academic guidance, university prep and more. Our guidance counselors are here to support our students in their journey at SJA and beyond.
As soon as you join the SJA family, we welcome you into a special “insiders club” called a House. All students, JK to Grade 12, and all staff, are divided into one of three Houses: Kappa, Zeta and Theta.
The House System makes our school culture unique and exciting. We encourage our SJA students to wear their House apparel and support their peers at our exciting sports events, challenges, contests and activities. Competitive streak? Check!
