OUR VALUES
We teach our students how to think, not what to think. We don’t shelter ourselves from offensive speech or ideas; we challenge ideas and get better at defending our own.
Fortune favours the brave. We embrace discomfort so that history will not ignore us. A life lived in fear is a life half lived. As Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
Success isn’t determined by what you have, but by how you use what you have. Obstacles are just creative opportunities and adversity breeds community.
We are St. Jude’s—one big family. We don’t tolerate cliques. We support one another from the oldest to the youngest. We have one others’ backs.
We take pride in who we are, but we don’t pretend we’re something that we’re not. Private education is a privilege, not something to be smug about. We like to keep things real.
We don’t live by other people’s expectations because we’re confident in who we are. We reserve the right to be quirky and weird.
We take ownership of our successes and failures. We take initiative and earn everything we get. We don’t blame others for our shortcomings, and we never succumb to victimhood. There are no participation trophies.
